Children's Book of the Year Awards
These annual awards are for books with an implied readership under the age of eighteen. The Short List in each category is announced on 1 April 2008. The Winner and Honour Book/s will be announced on Friday 14th August 2009. They are presented in five categories:
- CBCA Book of the Year: Older Readers
- CBCA Book of the Year: Younger Readers
- CBCA Book of the Year: Early Childhood
- CBCA Picture Book of the Year
- The Eve Pownall Award for Information Books
